Dacia 1410 Sport

I am the proud owner of this little bit of Romanian history: a Dacia 1410 Sport.
In the 80s, Dacia was building the Dacia 1310, an slightly upgraded Renault 12 under license. This 1410 Sport was a homologation special, a typical skunkworks project: without the bosses consent and little to no funding considering the state in which Romania’s economy was under the end of the communist regime during that period. It was quite a surprise that these got built. There were two series of this, the short door and the one I own and can see lower down, the long door. The short door is a very limited production car, with a only a couple of hundred ever made with a lot less than that in circulation. Thankfully there are a lot of enthusiasts here bringing these back to life out of pure passion for the brand.
The state in which my car currently sits can be seen here on my Facebook:

And finally, here are some renders of how I’d like the car to look like when it’s finished. I’m guessing the car will be on the street sometime next year, fingers crossed!

Dacia 1410 Sport

They made this in Romania in the 80s. They are basically chopped and shortened Renault 12s without any performance whatsoever. I happen to own one which is currently being restored and I was fooling around with it for the final paint scheme. Here it is in the colors of the Romanian Air Force a seen on the IAR 80 in the WW2!

All it needs now is a Gordini engine!
